In my goals for 2018 I mentioned quarterly check ins and I’m glad I did. Things changed in a big way for me in April.
As you may recall one of my goals was to write a book a month. I do still want to write a couple books this year (four to be exact) plus some Starsboro Chronicles but it’s no longer my only focus for the year.
So for my big news. I was selected by Tim Grahl to train with him to be a Book Launch Certified Coach. For those of you who don’t know this is huge. If you’ve read almost any of my marketing posts I mention Tim at least once. That’s because I’m on his email list and I’ve read both his books. He gives a lot of valuable information based on his experience working with authors. And when he sent out a call for people who were interested in becoming coaches, I took a shot. I honestly didn’t expect much. I was both terrified that I might get in and afraid that I might not.
But I did. And part of this certification is going through all Tim’s courses and reading his books. I had a leg up since I already read his books but I reread them. He has four courses I need to take and I just finished my Associates Degree (Literally handed in my final today) and now I can focus on book launch courses.
The press is also launching six books this summer and as the head of marketing, the pressure is on. I just hired an intern to help out which is exciting.
For 2018 writing goals I wanted to get three manuscripts ready for publication, publish How to Hunt a Hunter (Starsboro sn1 ep7). I also wanted to write a book a month. I haven’t done this. I’ve been writing but with school writing was put on the back burner. But, I still anticipate getting at least three books read for publication. I’m going to wait until I can publish the entire second half of the season of Starsboro before I publish How to Hunt a Hunter. As of now I’m not sure when that will be. After May, so my next update, I’ll have a better idea.
For business goals I wanted to create and maintain a vlog, and I have check us out on the Amphibian Press YouTube Channel. I also wanted to finish our non-fiction book and create the email course we’ve been talking about. The non-fiction is on the docket for August and the email course should be happening next month.
So to the nitty gritty of my goals for this quarter. (April, May, and June)
My 2nd Quarter Goals
I can’t get too specific on launch numbers because they aren’t my books. In September/October I’m launching my book so I can be more specific then. If you have questions about launch leave me a comment. I'd love to help you out and if you’ve tried something strange or unique and been successful I’d love to hear about it!
